Kitchen crimes solved at the 2021 Sydney Royal Easter Show

We invited everyone to learn all about food safety at the NSW Food Authority kitchen crimes stand in the Food Farm at the 2021 Sydney Royal Easter Show from 1-12 April.

Kids and carers used their detective skills to identify poor food handling and hygiene habits that could cause little ‘Barry’ and ‘Sally’ to get food poisoning.

FSI: Food Safety Investigation

Visitors moved through interactive ‘crime zones’ and kids took home a Junior FSI Squad Bag to continue their detective work at home.

FSI: Food Safety Investigation - Kitchen Crimes

The ‘crime zones’ helped visitors to:

•    Learn about the golden rules of food safety
•    Identify a contaminated kitchen scene
•    Identify the guilty offenders in a fridge ‘line up’
•    Choose the correct scenario in the crime lab
•    Get a close-up view of nasty bacteria.

Food Authority staff were on hand to provide food safety advice and answer questions by future detectives.
